SEMINAR INFORMATION BELOW.  NEXT SEMINAR SEPTEMBER 2009

Requirements:

∙        Each Student will prepare 1 piece of music, and will be allowed 15 minutes of class time.
∙        Each Student is required to introduce verbally the selection to be sung.
∙        Each Student must offer feedback to the student singing (see feedback below), one positive comment, and one negative.  The
negative comment will be accompanied by an example of how to do it 'better', or at least show 'how to'  do it better.  Then, the student
will sing again, incorporating the new changes and ideas.

Self-Evaluation:

∙        Student will be allowed to sing the selection in its entirety.  Following applause, the student will be asked the following:
∙        How was that for you?
∙        What were your goals today in singing this piece?
∙        Enjoy the feedback from fellow students.

Feedback:

∙        Other Students - This is a chance for you to offer positive criticism to the student singing.  Feel free to comment on techniques in
the following areas, but add you own as you please:
∙ Musical Phrasing
∙ Diction / Language
∙ Stage Presence
∙ Acting
∙ Breathing
∙ Support
∙ Posture
∙ (Even Clothing can be discussed)

WHEN YOU CRITICIZE A BASIC TECHNIQUE, YOU MUST DEMONSTRATE HOW TO DO IT CORRECTLY OR BETTER. Don’t be afraid of this -
Each person must give at least 1 positive comment and one negative - and can be the same as someone else, but in a different context.
STUDENTS TAKE NOTICE
Every New Student you refer, you will get 2 free lessons.
(of the same time [45 minutes for 45 minutes for example])
This is based upon each new student taking 4 lessons.
After the 4 lessons, you will be rewarded the 2 lessons.
There is no limit to how many students you refer.
New Students that only take 1-3 lessons do not qualify you for this offer.
